blah blah blah…sometimes our reliance on text and talking gives me a white noise headache. yes, a picture paints a thousand words but it can also evoke memories, inspire, move, challenge and amuse in ways that writing and talking can’t. some of my favourite blogs have no words at all just images. i wanted to share some of them with you and why they’re on my “reading” list.
A Collection a Day 2010 – Lisa Congdon is an artist and illustrator and I must say a prolific blogger. every day for 365 days, she posts either a photograph, illustration or painting of a small collection of “things”. eclectic doesn’t quite cover the vast array of collections lisa brings together day after day. Lisa is now also about to publish a book of the blog…oh another blook!
The Sartorialist – I’m a self confessed fashion no-hoper but I love this blog and I’m not the only one, its hugely popular as well as being well respected in the design world and further afield. its a simple premise, a man and his camera capturing real people on the streets who really know how to put an outfit together. he doesn’t discriminate by age or gender and has photographed people right across the globe.
xyxx – A visual conversation between two iphones and two lovers…not much else to say really but enjoy!
If Charlie Parker Was a Gunslinger, There’d Be a Whole Lot of Dead Copycats – an avalanche of wonderful photographs tumble out under the wordy and amusing title of one of my top 5 blogs. i love the famous faces, the clever categories and the behind the scenes access and the sheer quality and quantity of the material in the blog. it’s just brilliant.
